Thanks, Dan! The newspaper clippings are proof of the wonders of online searching. FYI, Houston Public Library now makes available the full historical archive of lots of newspapers, including The Houston Chronicle, Houston Post, Dallas Morning News, and many more. All you need is your library card number to search/print articles. And the Rice Thresher (student paper) is available through The Portal To Texas History (as is the Houston Earlier Texas Art Group Newsletter.)
Thank you Randy that's what I was looking for, had an idea about posting the lost printed information from the '80s and '90s 200s about writers, musicians, and artists where my research kept dropping off by the year 2010 they're making it searchable PDF format to Google analytics. Thanks again very helpful I'm going to look into this!
Oh, wouldn't it be wonderful if they did?! They do show some later Houston-made art (contemporary, and last 20 or so years). But of the EARLIER pieces - which help trace the art history of Houston, OUR city - now the only works up are the big Dorothy Hood, two Forrest Bess painting, and a Buck Schiwetz watercolor (Dena Woodall, Curator of Prints and Drawings, often has earlier Houston/Texas pieces - and IDENTIFIED as Houston/Texas made - installed in the Prints and Drawings galleries in the Kinder Building - thank you, Dena Woodall! Including those Preussers, a few years ago.
where in the world did you find those newspaper clippings, Randy? Terrific article!

Wish I were still docenting--would I have some tales to tell. Thanks for a great story!
Thanks, Trilla. You have tales to tell even when you're NOT docenting! And how much fun it is hearing them.
I wish MFAH would show those Preusser and other Houston artists' works.
